While physicians continue to rely on what most of the\nworld considers antiquated technology, doing so can hurt the workflow process\u2014and\nsubjects patient privacy data to unnecessary risk.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Maintaining the hardware and software needed to support fax\nequipment is costly, and practice staff spend precious time retrieving and\nsending documents and shredding those that contain sensitive health\ninformation. These manual processes are time-consuming, taking employees away\nfrom other tasks they could be working on instead, and leave practices\nvulnerable to HIPAA violations.
